Job Summary

The University of Michigan Department of Surgery is seeking a post-doctoral researcher or Research Investigator for the Research laboratory of Dr. Benjamin Levi with expertise in RNA sequencing data analysis including single cell sequencing and computer programming. The Research Fellow would be joining a basic and translational laboratory funded by the NIH and DOD that consists of post-doctoral fellows, medical students, technicians and a research scientist supervised by Dr. Benjamin Levi. Currently we focus on myeloid cell biology, stem cell biology, stem cell fate, cell signaling, immunology and developmental biology as it relates to wound healing.

We welcome talented and committed candidates with recent Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Cellular and Molecular Biology, or other relevant branches of biological sciences and computing to join our team. The Fellow should have a strong foundation in biostatistics and have familiarity with running NGS processing tools and processing / visualizing analysis results.

Mission of the Burn/Wound and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory: As a basic molecular and translational research laboratory, we plan to improve the treatment of extremity trauma patients. We hope that the research we perform will these findings to other aberrant wound healing challenges.

This appointment is initially for one year, with the opportnity to continue indefinitely depending on performance.
